Finding anecdotes in Wikipedia biographies
The main source is Wikipedia's biography pages. We cover nearly all Wikipedia language editions, rather than limiting the collection to English and Japanese, and collect the biography articles available for each subject. We look through the article text for events and details connected to a person, then organize them as anecdotes in English and Japanese. Profiles and anecdotes are handled separately. Each anecdote's detail page shows the Wikipedia language edition and revision used as the source.

02 / How stories are selected
Fun and rarity are guides for browsing
Each anecdote receives scores for qualities such as fun and rarity. These scores are assigned by AI after reading the source text. They do not prove that a story is universally entertaining or historically the rarest, and are best used as a way to browse.
Whether the story has an unexpected side or narrative pull.
How limited the set of people who could have a similar story may be.
03 / Limits of generated results
AI output can contain errors
This site uses AI to create anecdote text, translations, scores, and tags. AI may add information that is not in the source or confuse the relationships between people, periods, places, and events. Translations can be wrong, and tags that do not fit the text may be assigned.
We review the results after generation, but cannot remove every error. Tags in particular are automatically generated navigation aids, not classifications checked by a person one by one.
When checking a claim, do not rely on the generated text alone. Compare the anecdote with the Wikipedia source text and its citations. Each anecdote detail page shows the generated text, the original Wikipedia passage, and the source information.
